My name is Alan, I was born in 1971 in Geneva and I currently live in Lausanne, in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. I’m a Web Project Manager, Interaction Designer, Business Analyst and/or a Strategic Web Consultant (depending on the project I’m working on). Until the end of 2007, I used to run a small web agency in Lausanne called Adaptive Studios, with my business partner, Geneviève. We were quite good in our business, and conveyed an excellent reputation, managing large projects (such as the TCS‘s Intranet, or Payot‘s e-commerce website). At the end of 2007, we got a little tired of looking for clients and of dealing with accounting and administrative stuff. We decided to move on to something else. Such as returning to normal life (see my post on the subject). In fact it only took us a week altogether before we actually signed a new contract. Since January 2nd, 2008, I’ve been working as a Project Manager and Strategic Consultant for Cross Agency in Geneva. And I’ve just changed again and joined Liip in Lausanne on December 1st 2011.

Besides that, my main activities focus on being a committed father. I have 2 wonderful kids (Leo and Gilda, aka “The Monsters”) born in 1995 and 2000. I’m also a frustrated musician (the lack-of-time excuse is the most credible so far), a frenetic reader (all formats: paper/kindle/audio books, all sorts of books, especially English literature and science), a lover of life and good things, an addict to sport (workout and jogging so far) and I’m fond of science. I’ve launched an audio podcast in September 2010, with an accomplice, Mathieu Favez. It’s in French, it’s about science, and we love doing it! www.podcastscience.fm
UPDATE: I’ve decided to take my thing for Science Journalism to the next level. Just started an online J-School (in July 2011). I’ll keep you posted on this very blog (which might eventually find its purpose in life, after all, as I definitely need to write more.) You can also check my online presence in the social media:
